Do Crocs Make Your Feet STINK?

That's all I seem to hear lately as princess has been searching for the perfect pair of Hello Kitty Crocs - SOOO many people (and heck, even complete STRANGERS) tell my that Crocs make your feet stink.

To me, that's kind of a no-brainer kind of statement - ANYTHING that makes your feet sweat will cause them to stink, right?  Right.

Anyway, here's the full deal on all that -

Crocs have become a 'go to' option for people around the world. They are comfortable and easy on the budget. Yet, there are issues related to crocs that have to be cleared before moving forward. One of the questions asked often is, "do crocs make your feet stink?" and there are a host of different answers out there. This piece will take a look at this question and try to paint a clearer picture for prospective buyers.

Material Used

The blame will always go to the material used to make these shoes. Most people will blame the smell emanating from the feet to the material. Yet, many people do not know what material is used to manufacture Crocs.

One might guess they are made of rubber or plastic? Wrong, crocs are not made from either material.

Crocs are actually made of a material called, "PCCR", which is designed to ensure odor does not emanate from the feet. The design is specifically geared for this reality.

Design

Crocs are designed to ensure the feet does not smell. The holes on the shoes are there to air out the foot and enable it to breathe.

The holes help the shoe function better than the average pair.

Concluding Thoughts

In the end, the answer to the question is 'no'. Wearing crocs does not make one's feet stink and it is specifically designed not to. For those who do feel their feet stink, it will generally have to do with sweating excessively.

The material and design are geared to not smell and should function better than the average pair of shoes.

False reasoning related to the material has been making the rounds for years about crocs. Yet, they have been proven wrong as the entire shoe is designed, so it does not stink.

At the end of the day tho, it's right back to what I said earlier - if it makes your feet sweat, your feet will probably stink.

How To Wash the Liner in Hello Kitty Crocs for Kids

My little princess is really thinking about asking for this pair of Hello Kitty Crocs/clogs on the right, but I wanted to be sure that it was easy enough to wash the liner in them.

Overtime, the Mammoth liners in Hello Kitty Crocs needs to be washed just as any piece of clothing, shoes, or other foot liners do.  However, special care must be taken when removing the liners so excess pressure is not applied to the rivets within the footwear.

You can flip the area of the liner near the heel to loosen the liner around the outside of the clog. Next, you can peel the liner back by placing your thumb on top of the rivet exterior, and then you can peel the liner back off of the rivet within the Croc shoe. You can repeat this same step for the other Croc shoe as well. Once you’ve removed the liners, you can then go ahead and clean them.

To clean the Crocs Mammoth liners, you must hand wash them. They’re much too delicate for machine washing and can risk damaging the liners.

Instead, use a small amount of mild dish soap on a moist rag to wipe away dirt. Do not under any circumstances use bleach as this can cause the liners to weaken and deteriorate. Once you’re done washing the Croc Mammoth liners, hang them on a drying line to air dry. You should not ever put them in a dryer, as the dryer’s heat will cause the liners to shrink.

Once the liners have completely dried, you may go ahead and place them back into the Crocs. To do this, you can put the liner over your hand, insert your hand into the shoe until the tips of your fingers touch the toe area of the Crocs, and then insert the exterior of the rivet through the alloted slot in the Mammoth liner.

Lastly, you can stretch the heel area of the Mammoth liner back over the heels of the Croc shoes, and then you can out them back on.

Sounds complicated to do, but it's really not.

Are Crocs BAD for Kids Feet?

Wow, had another mom tell me she would NEVER buy Crocs for her kids - that they are bad for their feet!

Say WHAT?!?!?

Never heard such - and this article I just read agrees with me (ha!)

Now, I know that Crocs shoes are a tad on the "clunky" side so you have to be careful about kids tripping when running like maniacs - but BAD for their feet?

Sorry, I think NOT.

Why She MUST HAVE new Hello Kitty Crocs

Ok, I've had a request from the little princess...

She feels that it is VERY important that I show a pair of her current (very dirty, very loved, and very well-worn) Crocs with y'all so YOU can see with your own eyes just how badly she NEEEEEEEEDS a new pair of Crocs.

Here they are:

Now we all know just how badly this (poor deprived) child really needs a new pair.
